I've just had a phone call from my publishers to say that publication date of 'The Dark Threads' is to be postponed until (wait for it) August! It seems that in the current economic climate and the 'doom and gloom' in the publishing world, they don't feel that now is the best time to publish it. I can't say more at the moment as I'm still reeling from the blow. Nothing more to say anyway, I suppose.

There's no point me weeping and wailing (says she stoically) as there's nothing I can do about it. I'll just have to brush the dust off my novel and get on with that. (Oh, sod it, pass the tissues, please).

Oh no, I'm so sorry Jean, that's a real blow. I don't blame you for having a reel.

At least it's only postponed rather than cancelled, so roll on August I say. Would it help if you mention an eager public waiting to read it??

I do hope you feel better soon xx

Oh you poor thing. I think you've got every right to have a good cry. You've experienced all the build up and all the anticipation only to be faced with this news.

But focus on August. We're more than half way through winter already - August won't seem so far away once spring arrives.

Jean,, I'm so sorry to hear this. I can imagine how hurt and frustrated you feel. However, I do suggest that you put the intervening time to good use by doing all you can to publicise the book, as I suggested in my comment on your post on Publicity. Hope this helps - and good luck!

Thank you so much Karen, Suzanne and Lorna for your support. It helps.

Yes, Lorna, I'll have to use this 'opportunity' of more time to do all I can about publicity.
